The central management team works with UA year round on all projects from home through long-term renewable contracts. They are responsible for the entire project portfolio of the organization. Recruitment for the central team takes place 2-4 times per year. Positions can receive multiple promotions from an intern (associate) to paid manager/ director.

United Ambassadors is now recruiting Associates.
We are looking for the most talented MUNers on the global circuit to join our international team for multiple exciting projects. 
Through home-based internship positions that offer flexibility, opportunities to expand one;s skills set as well as great exposure and close contact with central directors of the organization, they get to work on one or all of the various conferences, academies, workshops or assemblies organized by United Ambassadors around the world. They are responsible for ensuring effective outreach and recruitment success. They may be assigned to brand development initiatives that have a final goal of further developing the global reach and effective impact of the organization in the international Model UN Community. The associate position may develop into a promotion upward the management track, or positive evaluations that result in opportunities to staff our programs on-site. As the world's largest multinational, global, multilingual MUN core management team, we are proud to be working with our associates, who serve as the public representation of our commitment to global citizenship and whose work makes up the fabric of United Ambassadors.

The Communications Associates
The communications associates division is the most dynamic group on UA Central Management. They serve as official representatives of United Ambassadors worldwide and are responsible for the major part of the organization's external communications, media, marketing, brand development and global coverage. Their primary deliverable is conference/ program recruitment. In this challenging role, they work to ensure UA its projects are well heard of in every corner of the world, making United Ambassadors one of the most global organizations on the international MUN landscape.
 
Responsibilities: Marketing and Communications, through:
  • Ensuring recruitment targets for each project are met.
  • Personally building, refining and constantly updating our global MUN database/ communications directory that covers 5 continents fully (and is sent regularly to the United Nations Model UN office).
  • Sending invitation emails to hundreds of MUN societies and schools around the world to attend our programs.
  • Increasing UA's global visibility through social media
  • Increasing UA's website subscribers and social media followers
  • Developing project-centric communications playbook elements (email templates, regional tips/ advice, etc).
  • Assisting the Communications Director with the development of comprehensive communications playbook).
  • Contributing to the social media accounts and elements of the monthly social media plan in 6 official UN languages,
  • Constantly responding to emails/ questions from prospective delegates, etc about our projects.
  • Reporting directly to the central communications director and
  • Actively engaging potential followers of our pages on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat).
  • Creatively and effectively ensuring adequate successful recruitment for our MUN projects in assigned region.
 
Terms & Conditions / Duration: 
Jan/ Feb - August 2017.
Expected 4-6 work hours per week.
This is an unpaid, home-based, professional internship position. Candidate would be working with the organization's HQ based in New York, but would not need to move to or work from the US for this post. Contract is 6 months renewable with agreement of both parties. Position could progress to a paid managerial position after first 6 months depending on performance evaluations.
 
Requirements and Eligibility
Must have:
Minimum 3 years of MUN Experience
Strong connections in assigned MUN region
Excellent English written/ oral communications skills.
Outstanding email drafting/ communications skills and the ability to achieve tangible recruitment results.
Proven Communications experience in MUN.
Preferred to have:
Strong creativity, a tendency to take initiative, strong goal orientation, and ability to inspire action.
Up to 10 years in MUN
Served in multiple MUN Communications Positions.
College Student/ Fresh Graduate.

The Content Associates 
The content associates division is the source of published content on UA Central Management. These associates get the opportunity to display their expertise and substantive knowledge through how-to MUN skills/ community coverage articles on our website, the MUN resources, the multilingual blog and our flagship monthly newsletter. This team is a critical part of UA Central. Their work is displayed in various sections of the website, and their position is usually a stepping stone to further opportunities with UA or in Model UN.
 
Responsibilities: Writing and quality content development, regularly and in a timely manner, through:
  • Website: Writing minimum 1 article per month for the website in English and/ or all official UN languages containing relevant, quality content to serve and enhance the Model UN Community. These are the critical website sections:
    • MUN Skills: Advice for delegates/ chairs/ organizers. How to get better at MUNing.
    • The Circuit: Community coverage.
    • Multilingual: The 2 categories above originally written in one of the six official UN languages.
    • UN4MUN: Reserved for 2+ years of UN4MUN experience holders.
  • Newsletter: Issued at the start of each month. The newsletter is the flagship of the content division and a critical publication for organizational updates and information. Content associates deliver minimum 1 article per month to the newsletter in English and/ or all official UN languages.
  • Multilingual: Translation of existing articles or material, and original development of blog articles or website sections in the 6 official UN languages.
  • Attending bi-weekly meetings with content director/ editor in chief for feedback, updates, evaluations and Q&A.
  • Ensuring our website actively engages and connects with the increasingly diverse & interconnected international MUN community
  • Increasing UA's website subscribers through the newsletter and quality blog additions.
  • Assisting the Editor in Chief with the development of comprehensive content playbook.
  • Contributing to the social media accounts and elements of the monthly social media plan in 6 official UN languages
  • Constantly responding to emails/ questions from prospective delegates, etc about our projects
  • Reporting directly to the content director/ editor in chief
  • Actively engaging potential followers of our pages on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat).
  • Creatively and effectively ensuring successful coverage of assigned region in our website and newsletter publications.

Design Associate
The Design Associates
The Design Division is a critical section of the UA-Central Management Team. This associate would be responsible for creating our graphic design content and various forms of multimedia and marketing material to be used across all our channels. This team would work directly with senior management on various internal projects like the newsletter, as well as high profile projects. A challenging and rewarding role that requires MUN knowledge, creativity, and a flare for speaking through design content.  The work of the design associates is likely to be featured in our events at the UN and is the most visible contribution noted at United Ambassadors that could greatly help you elevate your portfolio and background experience for future positions in design. 
 
Responsibilities: Developing design material, including:
Social Media: Facebook banners and Instagram, Twitter and Facebook Posts.
Videos: Promotional videos, video/ photo collages, project recaps, team introductions, etc.
The Monthly Newsletter - priority.
Promotional material, program booklets, flyers, banners, etc.
Document Templates (internal and external documents and their templates/ cover pages).
Program specific design material, pre-conference or on-site
Design content specific to the Central Team, UA-MUNC, the MUN Academy, the UN4MUN workshops, or the MUN Youth Assembly.
Photos: Updating the website photo gallery, branding and updating photo albums of each event on social media

Proven experience in video editing and production, marketing, and PR roles and social media campaigns.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere and other platforms are an advantage.
The ability to deliver high-quality design work on deadline and sometimes at short notice.
Must be proactive, flexible to change and highly responsive to professional feedback.
Must* have outstanding communication skills, through Facebook, email, and other chanels. 
Must* have outstanding team work, group work and ability to push a complex project that requires multiple deliverables to success.
